Who we are
Di and Paul, the dynamic duo behind The Limery, turned a bare plot of land into a thriving citrus haven at the heart of Wairoa. Their shared passion for sustainability, community, and incredible citrus products laid the foundation of everything The Limery stands for today.
Though Paul is no longer with us, his vision and values remain deeply woven into who we are.
Di continues to lead with resilience and heart, ensuring The Limery thrives as a testament to their shared dream.
4 Hectares
4 Lime Varieties
3500 Trees
With 4 hectares, 4 lime varieties, and approximately 3500 trees, and foresight, we have created a full facility enabling us to grow and process both whole fruit and juice directly to market.
Our directors have over 50 years of experience in the New Zealand Beverage Industry and, with drive and determination, have created this once bare land block into a Wairoa landmark.

Our Co-Founder and Heartbeat here at the Limery.
If you haven't already, let us introduce you to the driving force behind our zesty journey, Di. From the world of start-ups in the beverage industry, Di has always been captivated by the magic of transforming raw materials into something extraordinary. Alongside her husband, Paul, she embarked on a mission to turn citrus into liquid gold at The Limery in beautiful Wairoa.
She is the powerhouse in the 'engine room,' overseeing the nitty-gritty of our operation. Starting as a seasonal venture centred around whole fruit, The Limery quickly grew, selling limes by the kilo and even by the tonne. With growth came innovation, and Di spearheaded the creation of our juicing facility to minimise waste, proving that sustainability is at the core of our business.
But it's not just about business for Di, it’s also about community. She believes in giving back and has created opportunities for local talent through initiatives like Te Rau Haumako.
Her mantra? "If you don't give it a go, you'll never know."
Di is the embodiment of hard work, determination, the 'can-do' Kiwi spirit and we all love and look up to her.

Mark, has years of experience in the hospitality world and a knack for making things happen, he’s here to help bring The Limery to even more Kiwi tables.
From keeping the wheels turning at bustling Auckland venues to fine-tuning everything from budgets to wine lists, Mark knows his way around the business side of things. He’s got that classic Kiwi “can-do” attitude, solving problems on the fly and always putting our customers first. Plus, he’s a bit of a fine wine fan – so he fits right in!
When he’s not at The Limery, you might catch him out in the garden or getting creative in the kitchen. He’s a people person through and through, and we’re lucky to have him on the team.
We are a privately owned, fully integrated, and certified Lime grower and processor located at the mouth of the Wairoa River in Wairoa, Northern Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Our unique climate and subtropical environment make this location very desirable for the growth of citrus and limes.
The Limery
A bird’s eye view
Lots has changed over the past few years. The lime trees we planted that used to be so small have now matured and require ladders for us to reach all the fruit. We have added a whole range of new lime varieties and planted a whole bunch of new trees.
The Juicing Process
Meet our juicing plant, we are now geared up to provide lime juice for both wholesale and retail. Here's a sneak peek into the process of how we make our juice.
