On‑Screen & On the Map: The Limery’s Country Calendar Feature

In July 2021, our orchard and juicing facility made its debut on New Zealand’s iconic rural documentary series, Hyundai Country Calendar (Season 56, Episode 20). This was a significant moment for us — not just because it brought our story to a national audience, but because it underscored what we’re all about: growing, juicing, and celebrating citrus, and doing it differently.

A Kiwi First

We were proud to be featured as the country’s only lime‑juicing operation of its kind — a breakthrough for our business and our region. As Hyundai Country pointed out: “A couple set up New Zealand’s only lime juicing operation on their Wairoa orchard, a breakthrough that means they can expand the business and provide income for others in the community.”

That line struck a chord because it isn’t just about us, it’s about community, opportunity and a different kind of citrus future.

Behind the Scenes

In the episode, viewers saw the full journey:

  • From our 4-hectare orchard by the mouth of the Wairoa River.

  • Through four lime varieties, 4,000 trees and a fully‑integrated juicing facility.

  • To the moment when citrus became liquid gold - quality juice, no additives, no compromise.

Why It Matters

Being on Country Calendar did more than raise our profile. It:

  • Validated our work and our “Kiwi citrus done our way” ethos.

  • Put a spotlight on Wairoa and the possibilities for regional agriculture.

  • Gave our team, our growers and our community a moment to shine.
